The center is located just outside Kroonstad in the Free State.
Special needs enclosures
A special outdoor enclosure is a safe haven for spotted eagle owls that cannot be released back to the wild due to permanent injuries.

Enclosures
Different enclosures, house different animals. All enclosures are build according to minimum standards set by the DETEA as well as to each animals specific needs.

Veterinary Clinic
Appropriate veterinary care is a critical part of providing care for the animals. Routine health checks, emergency care and follow up examinations after surgery are handled in the clinic.

Food prep area
A variety of food is being prepared – from a
variety of fresh fruits and vegetables to chicken,
meat and mealworms. Nuts, pellets and seeds are kept in cool storage areas.

Office and library

|
The center’s office is located in a farm house built thirty years ago. All activities needed to run the center (fundraising, wildlife courses, membership, communications etc) are carried out here.
Books and other instructional material are also available. |
Maintenance area
Repairs and maintenance on the enclosures
and general farm work is a full-time job for
several workers. Keeping up with cage
maintenance and welding repairs is a main
priority but also plumbing, electric and
equipment repairs take time. Regular
preventative maintenance of appliances,
drainage systems, vehicles, physical building
and ground clean up needs to be done.
