We have a constant and ever changing list of needs for our animals and for the smooth operation of our center. Many times our supporters want to know what we need at the center. Below is a list of the most often used commodities.... as well as some special “wish list” items we hope to have someday!
Cleaning, Maintenance & Ground Works:
- Square tubing
- Welded mesh, diamond mesh
- 3m Long creosote poles (50x75mm thick)
- Nail guns, hammers, screw drivers
- Industrial washing machine (for towels and bedding of animals), Tumble dryer
- Plastic pet houses
- Plastic laundry baskets
- High pressure cleaner
- Plastic kid pools (durable not inflatable)
- Giant plastic tubs or horse water tubs
- Durable Rubbermaid storage bins
- Buckets, hosepipes, brooms
- Deep freezer (Food i.e. mice, rats, day old chicks, mealworm blend, meat, fish etc.)
- Walk in refrigerator (Medicine and food), kettle, microwave, food processor.
- Power Generator that can provide electricity to the icu and hospital during our all too common power failures during thunderstorms (URGENT!!)
- Building materials (Bricks, Cement, IBR roofing, paint, tiles, glass, treated poles, lighting, shade cloth, astro turf, fish netting, plywood, plumbing and electrical components etc.)
- Catching nets, rods, pet carriers, plastic pet houses, capture and transporting crates, stainless steel cages with dividers
- Rubber boots and shoes
- Used fire hose (from fire dept), thick bungee cords
- Clean bales of hay, straw, pine needles
- Hedge Rakes, branch clippers, shovels, pitchforks, wheelbarrows, spades, pruners
- Heavy-duty garden hoses, hose nozzles, garden sprinklers
- Light bulbs (60, 75 & 100W) & flood lights

Food:

- Infra red globes, UVB lighting, high intensity penlight, mobile angle poise lamp, examination light, sterilizer, stainless steel hollowware, wall diagnostic system (ophthalmoscope/otoscope, temp.), anaesthetic stool, wall mount drug cabinet, stationary instrument cabinet, metric dial calliper.
- Microhaematocrit centrifuge, laryngoscope, Ambu bag, ET-tubes, stomach tubes, surgeon loupes or magnifying headband, glucometer, oxygen tank, safety goggles, sterile blood tubes.
- Syringes, feeding tube and urethral catheter size 8 French, cutting c-3 needle, sterile coated vicryl absorbable sutures, 1.0 and 0.5ml tuberculin various size syringes and needles, needle holders, scissors, gauze swabs, cotton wool, saline, Ringer’s lactate, feeding tubes, nebuliser, N-Dex Nitrile disposable gloves 8ml thickness, sterile gloves, cohesive and cotton weave bandages, non adherent dressing, cleaning/disinfecting products, artery forceps, plastic forceps.
